Lake colors meet the FDA specifications for skin safety, as outlined in the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act of 1938.
Lake colors completely diperse in water. They are the best choice for coloring lotions, bath bombs, bath salts,
transparent soap, and melt and pour soap. Lake colors migrate much less than FD&C colors and because they are water soluble, they won't leave a colored ring in a bathtub when used in bath treatments.
